Second-Class First Aid

Recently we worked on First Aid. Nathaniel so kindly volunteered to die several times for demonstration purposes. We talked about a lot of stuff, but instead of listing them I’ll simply post the pictures I took.

Camping Scouts

I’m really sorry how late this is. I realize this happened a long time ago, but I’m doing it now and that’s what matters. Thank you for reminding me to do this, Ironcraft. Anyway, we went camping on March Twenty-something. I can’t really remember that much about what we did anymore, but we arrived there, set up tents, then had dinner. And desert (s’mores). After that, we did games as it was getting dark, mostly capture the “flag”. After that, I went to bed and I’m not sure what the rest of you did. The next morning, I remembered my duty as...

I received this email from our patrol’s scoutmaster: Hello Everyone, 1 week from today, March 28-29, we will be having our first 11 yr old camp out of the year.  It will be just North of my house up Santa Fe Ave in Edmond.  We will meet at my house, 2516 W Coffee Creek Rd Late afternoon, early evening (depending on when people can show up) on Friday.  Fathers are welcome but not required to go so if you can make it great, if you can’t don’t sweat it. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are coming so I can get a head count.  The boys will be cooking individual...

Scout Athletics

Sorry I’ve not done this previously, I had some WiFi problems. Anyway, first there was the merit badge fair last Saturday. Some of you were there, some weren’t. The snack bar was awesome, however. Hopefully everyone remembers how I generously bought them cookies. As for our “recent” meeting we did… athletics. First was chin-upping. Next was running. It was very hard. Here’s a series of pictures depicting our running.       Last we did push-ups and sit-ups. Isaac managed to do 100 sit-ups… … and 2 push-ups. In the end, each of us...

Leadership Position Responsibilities

Leadership Position Responsibilities

Our leader gave me a few papers about the roles. It would take a long time to write it all down, so I’m summarizing. For more advanced instructions, ask our leader, look it up, or be lazy and wait for me top scan the papers. Patrol Leader He is the leader of the patrol. He represents the patrol at all important meetings, explains clearly any major decisions made, etc etc etc. Helps plan, lead, and evaluate troop activities. Learns about other scout’s abilities and strengths and assigns them tasks in activities. Encourages scouts to complete requirements and completes requirements...

Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts

Today was… interesting.  First, we elected a Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader. Our winners were… as assistant and as patrol leader. Congratulations! Later, we dropped by the Blue and Gold banquet to accept two new members and have a “few” refreshments.

Our New Webmaster

Posted by on Feb 12, 2014 in Scouts | 1 comment

As everyone here knows, I was just today elected Webmaster for the 11-year-old scouts. I will take this responsibility seriously. I will try to always bring a camera to scouts, as that is part of my role. If scouts have tech problems, go to me. Also, if any scouts in my group wish to become authors, so they can simply log in and be able to publish and comment, either talk to me in person or email me at grant@lyonmania.com. Isaac, I will appoint you assistant Webmaster next Wednesday, if you still want the role then. Becoming assistant Webmaster will mean you get a special account on this...

Why You Should Vote Me Senior Patrol Leader

Why You Should Vote Me Senior Patrol Leader

My fellow Boy Scouts of America, I proudly announce acceptance to become a candidate for the coming Senior Patrol Leader election. I feel it my duty, as oldest of the Boy Scouts, to accept this post unconditionally, regardless of whatever peril it induces, despite the rising challenges of today, against the pride that would hold other men captive in a prison of selfishness. I may be young, but I am determined to be a leader of my peers in these difficult and changing times. Vote for me, and ensure a brighter future for not only our pack, but also our world. Join me, my pack. And ensure a...
